Terms of Service (ChronOtter)
Effective date: January 15, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ChronOtter ("the Service"), a set of timing tools available at chronotter.com and as an installable PWA, operated by Foxroy ("we", "our", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using ChronOtter, you confirm that you can form a binding contract and that you accept these Terms together with our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you accept these Terms on its behalf.
The service
ChronOtter provides browser-based timing tools — a countdown, a timer, world clocks, and alarms. The Service is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems.
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service or its content except as expressly permitted.
- Interfere with the security, integrity, or advertising of the Service, or remove or obscure any notices.
Reliance on timing
ChronOtter is provided for general convenience. Timers, alarms, and clocks depend on your device, browser, and operating system, which may sleep, throttle background tabs, or drift. Do not rely on the Service for safety-critical, medical, financial, or other situations where a missed or inaccurate alert could cause harm.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by Foxroy and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding. Data you create locally (timers, presets, settings) remains yours.
Advertising & third-party services
The Service may display advertising and use third-party services such as analytics and ad networks (for example, Google). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and policies. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled and how you can control it.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that alerts will always sound on time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Foxroy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from missed alarms, inaccurate timing, data loss, or interruption of the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which Foxroy operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits any consumer rights that cannot be waived under your local law.
